In 2000, the Rotary Club of London West took on the Westminster Ponds area as the focus for the Club’s Environmental Projects. This Environmentally Significant Area (ESA) is home to plants and animals that are rare or endangered and the area itself is endangered since it is a high use area existing right in the middle of the City of London.
The Club’s goal is to work with those groups interested in protecting the plants and animals that make there home at the Ponds and to ensure that this special place continues to provide enjoyment for future generations
The planks are individually engraved by club members with the donor's name, using a router and templates, to celebrate their contribution to this cause.
